Livingston is without question one of the best fly fishing
destinations in the world. With the Yellowstone River flowing right
through town, the Boulder and Madison Rivers and all their
tributaries in striking distance, Depuy's, Anderson's, and Nelson's
Spring Creeks just on the outskirts of town, Yellowstone National
Park and it's countless rivers, lakes, and streams, an hour away,
anglers are never disappointed. Dan Bailey's Fly Shop is just next door. Hiking,
horseback riding, whitewater rafting and canoeing, mountain biking,
and nature tours are also possible.
In the winter, downhill skiing options include Bridger Bowl (legendary for it's steeps and
annual snowfall) and Big Sky (which has the highest vertical drop of
any ski area in North America). Other winter activities include
Cross Country skiing, snowshoeing, guided snow cat tours, snowmobile
rentals, the list goes onÉfly fishing is even possible in the winter
here on the nearby spring creeks and on rivers like the Firehole in
Yellowstone Park.
